Hiking in Nosy Be : Tailor made excursions
Hiking - discovering nature, people, their environment..
Departing from the guest house "la case Sakalava", a lot of tracks can be hiked to visit the neighboring villages, to discover the Malagasy farmers in their environment. Hike around the lakes, discover the landscapes of the center of the island of Nosy Be.
- Nearest lake, Amparihibe, 2 km away, about 2 / 3h of hiking (with observation stops)
- Depending on your desire to hike longer.. it is possible to add several lakes (Mainty maso, Anjavibe, Antsihidy ..)
- Possibility to go to waterfalls and swim there (Dzamandzar waterfall, Anjavibe, suspension bridge, Mont Passot ..)
- Other hikes, longer, to access the center of Nosy Be or to cross it, require a transport or a picnic.
- For the more experienced, possibility of accommodation and assistance in the preparation of the Nosy Be Trail and Maki Run (Nosy Komba Trail).
Hiking in a naturalist way
- In addition to the possibility of organizing the typical excursion to discover lemurs, reptiles in the south of the island of Nosy Be (Lokobe forest reserve), there is the possibility of organizing hikes from the guest house, according to your expectations.
- Hikes to the sacred lakes of Nosy Be (several circuits, from 2 to 8 hours of hiking) birds, reptiles (boas, lizards, chameleons, geckos, crocodiles) dry vegetation (teak forests, agriculture).
- Hikes going deeper into the center of Nosy Be, towards denser vegetation (humid forest, terraced rice fields ..) discovery of a different flora and fauna, and Nosy Be lemurs.
- Other kinds of hikes to discover different environments are organized such as the visit of mangroves, and other particular environments.

The following prices include an endowment to an association that we support which aims to discover Nosy Be in a sporting way, by walking or running (trails). This association works on the sensibilisation of the population to the protection of environment and reforestation actions. Our guides are founding members of the association and members of the board.
